Did the Message Change—or Just the Delivery?
I get that he’s always had political themes, but do you think it hits differently now because it’s more direct instead of wrapped in a story?
Part of what made those older songs land was that people could take something personal from them without feeling like they were being told what to think. When it’s more upfront, it might connect less for some people.
Curious where the line is between being clear and being too on-the-nose.
